🌡️ Temperature Index

Topic: Property | Category: Residential | Group: Location**

Description

The Temperature Index measures the typical high and low outdoor temperatures experienced around a property.

What the Index Measures

This index reflects the local temperature range, based on:

  • average daytime highs

  • average nighttime lows

  • seasonal temperature variation

  • historical temperature patterns

Higher scores = more moderate, stable temperatures
Lower scores = more extreme temperature conditions
(either very hot, very cold, or highly variable depending on the region)

The Temperature Index does not measure comfort — it measures how extreme or moderate local temperatures are.

Numeric Scale & Quality Interpretation

Temperature conditions are converted into the standard Index Toscale numeric scales:

  • 1–3 (Free)

  • 1–5 (£0.50)

  • 1–10 (£1)

  • 1–20 (£2)

  • 1–99 (£9.90)

  • 1–999,999 (Enterprise)

Accuracy: Larger scales distinguish finer temperature differences between neighborhoods, regions, and microclimates.
For example:

  • 60/99 = more moderate temperature range

  • 18/99 = extreme highs/lows

Examples:

  • 18/20 = stable, predictable temperatures

  • 5/20 = large seasonal swings

  • 2/20 = very extreme climate

Why Numeric Scales Matter

Temperature variability is complex. Numeric indexing makes it:

  • measurable

  • comparable

  • standardized across cities

  • easy for investors

  • compatible with AI/ML models

  • accurate at higher resolutions

Properties can be compared even across different climate zones.

How This Index Saves You Time

Instead of analyzing weather charts or climate websites, the Temperature Index gives you:

  • a single score summarizing how moderate or extreme an area’s temperature is

  • instant screening for climate preferences

  • easy filtering (“Temperature Index above 12”)

This reduces hours of climate research to one metric.

AI Insight Example

“This area ranks in the top 25% for moderate temperature conditions compared to surrounding regions.”

Subscription Callout

As always:

  • Free users see the 1–3 scale

  • Paid tiers unlock 1–5, 1–10, 1–20, and 1–99

  • Enterprise receives the full 1–999,999 scale for ML and modelling

More detail means more climate understanding.
